Them Examules are OVER!

Sat May 31, 2008, 1:00 AM
Yay! No more exams for another...little while...and the new MacAir laptop is going brilliantly!

There is very little happening except I'm preparing as the sole cellist in the pit orchestra for our school's production of Les Miserables which will open in a couple weeks! Yay, sitzprobe tomorrow! And wondering if I should take my electric cello.

Hope y'all are good. Have a nice week!

Well, it depends on what you're using it for. This one is great for me because it's pretty and, since I travel HEAPS and heaps, it's light and small so it's much easier to travel with.

Also, it's a Mac, so it has an aesthetic interface that is easy enough to get used to, is pretty much virus free and has really great graphics. Also the keyboard on this one has little lights under each key so that you can see what you're doing in the dark.

BUT the main problems that bloggers and Mac connoisseurs are going on about include that it's only about 2.4 Gig and, when you're trying to run alot of programs at once, especially photoshop or Word together, etc, it slows down and thus needs a bit more RAM to make it accessible to these people.

For me, using it for travel and light tasks such as Word, Itunes and the internet, it's really great and a really nice looking workstation too. But yes, it could do with a bit more processing power. However, overall, it suits me great. Thus, I recommend it unless you're doing really heavy-duty photoshopping, using Adobe Acrobat all the time or playing high-power-usage games like the Sims 2 so much that it becomes an inconvenience.

Yeah, even the cut version! Lol, and the cello is playing literally the entire time! I love it though, the atmosphere is so great and the singing and dancing around. Lol. It almost makes the five and a half hour rehearsals worth it!

But it's such a long musical. To me, musicals shouldn't last any longer than 3 hours... I remember when my club did Camelot...we ran for 4 hours 15. By the end, quite a few people had walked out and the rest were asleep :P

Tell me about it. We've cut alot out, so it's about 2 hours and a bit. Long musicals are nightmares.

Huh... how many gigs do the larger ones have?
I don't travel much so... those might be better...

Lol, I'm not sure; expert at this one, but I'm new to Macs in general. Their website is pretty good, though. I know from friends' experience that the Mac PowerBooks tend to be really good.

For the audience...maybe for the performers :P Us, the Ensemble mostly just hung around backstage...:P
